Baseball Legend Hank Aaron passes away at the age of 86

Baseball and Sporting World were left heartbroken yesterday when the news of the passing away of the legendary Hank Aaron broke out. The Atlanta Braves legend passed away in his sleep at the age of 86, two week later after he took a vaccine shot for COVID-19.

Born in Mobile,Alabama on 5th February 1934, Aaron spent the 1952 season in minor leagues before moving on to the Majors.Nicknamed the "Hammer" hee would go on to spend 20 years at the Atlanta Braves(previously called Milwaukee Braves). He would thrn spend his last 2 seasons at the Milwaukee Brewers before retiring in 1976.

In his illastrous career, Hank Aaron would go on to become the player with the most home runs surpassing the record of the Legendary Babe Ruth. At the time of his retirement he had recorded 755 Home Runs, a record which stood for nearly 30 years. His record however was broken by Barry Bonds who now is the record holder with 762 HR,7 more than Aaron.

In his 23 Year Baseball Career, he would win the World Series in 1957. He was also the National league MVP in that year. His other accolades included

On 1st August,1982 he was inducted in the Major League Baseball Hall of Fame with 97.8% votes in ballots. On February 5th,1999 on his 65th Birth Anniversary, the MLB announced a new award named the "Hank Aaron" award which would honour the best offensive overall player in American and National League.

In June 2002, Hank Aaron would receive the USA's highest civilian honour, the Presidential Medal of Freedom from then President George Bush.
