Hours after announcing another Lockdown in United Kingdom, Prime Minister Boris Johnson has said to have cancelled his scheduled trip to India on Republic Day (26th January) due to surge of Coronavirus Cases during the festive period.
A spokesperson from UK News Agency has been quoted saying "The Prime Minister spoke to Prime Minister (Narendra) Modi this morning, to express his regret that he will be unable to visit India later this month as planned."
On Monday Johnson had announced that UK will be under Complete Lockdown atleast till February to control the spread of the virus with a new strain. Almost 3/4th of the UK was under heavy restrictions of TIER 4 guidelines, but now nearly 56 million people from UK will observe Complete Lockdown.
Though Elite Sports like Cricket and Football will continue. So far UK have recorded 2,713,563 cases with 75,431 deaths(Stats from WorldoMeter) however they have not disclosed the stats of total recoveries and active cases.
