Former England International and Manchester City Legend Colin Bell passes away at the age of 74

On Tuesday Former England Football International and Manchester City Legend Colin Bell passed away at the age of 74 through an illness which was not related to Covid. He passed away peacefully in his afternoon sleep.

Born on February 26,1946 in Hesleden in Northwest England, Bell was raised by his single father and family members after his mother died when he was just a child. Bell would debut with Bury FC later moving on to Manchester City.

Nicknamed "The King of Kippax" Bell would spend 13 years at Manchester City from 1966-1979, making over 501 appearances for the Club and scoring 153 goals helping City win league title in 1967-68 season and also won FA Cup once along with the European Cup Winners' Cup. He would also win the the league cup and the Charity Shield 2 times.

City Chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak said in a statement "Colin Bell will always be remembered as Manchester City's greatest players and the very sad news today of his passing will affect everybody connected to our club.The passage of time does little to erase the memories of his genius. The Fact that we have a stand at the Etihad Stadium named after Colin speaks volumes about the importance of his contribution to this club."

He is survived by his wife Marie,children Jon and Dawn and grandchildren Luke,Mark,Isla and Jack.
