In an action packed weekend with fixtures like Liverpool vs Manchester United,Inter Milan vs Juventus and FC Barcelona vs Athletic Club on Sunday, there was not much to attract the interest of viewers on Saturday except the Derby Della Capitale between Lazio and Roma.
Roma came into this match with a chance to atleast go level on points with Inter at 37 pts before their game against Juve while Lazio came into this match at 8th spot with 28 points trying to find their previous season's form.
This was the 192nd meeting of two local rivals of the Captial City Rome. The previous two derbies last season finished 1-1. If Roma were to put their mark as seriously title Challengers they had to beat Lazio in this matchup.
However things didn't go as they planned and were thrashed 3-0 by their rivals. A goal from European Golden Shoe Winner last season Ciro Immobile and a brace from Luis Alberto with goals from either side of the Half helped them to a comfortable derby win. With that win Lazio climbed up to 7th at 31 points,3 behind their City Rivals.
Elsewhere in the Premier League, Chelsea defeated 10 man Fulham 1-0 in the London Derby thanks to a goal from Mason Mount in the 78th minute. The hosts we're reduced to 10 man when Left Midfielder Antonee Robinson was sent off after he went flying in to win the ball back but unfortunately got Cesar Azpilicueta legs and was shown a red card in the 44th minute.
