Mumbai Crime Branch arrests gang who sold new born babies

In A Heinous Act of Humanity, the Mumbai Crime Branch has busted a racket of criminals who were allegedly selling new born babies for money. What's more shocking is that baby girls were sold for Rs 60,000 while baby boys were sold for Rs 1,50,000.

According to the Police Investigations the racket of  criminals have sold around 4 babies in six months but they suspect the number of babies can be more.

On Saturday the Crime Branch Unit Arrested Arti Hiramani Singh,Rukshar Shaikh,Rupali Verma,Geetanjali Gaikward,Nisha Ahire and Sanjay Padam. During Investigation the police have found out that Arti Hiramani Singh is a pathology lab technician who has had a major hand in this crime of kidnapping children.

The Police have also found out that Rukshar along with another lady named ShahJahan had sold their own babies for that price. In 2019 she had sold her son to Sanjay Padam with the help of Nisha and another unidentified lady. With that information Sanjay was arrested by the police for purchasing the baby without following any legal adoption process.

The Police have booked all the accused under IPC Sections of Human Trafficking and Juvenile Justice Act. They have seized 8 mobile phones containing pictures of new born babies and have retrieved WhatsApp Chats which can help them in further investigation. A team has been deployed to find out about the children that Rukshar sold in Dadar and Dharavi.
