Mohammed Siraj and Shardul Thakur bowl out Australia on Day 4

Siraj with a 5 Wicket Haul

After the Heroics with the Bat on Day 3 from Shardul Thakur and Washington Sundar,India came out to play Day 4 with full of confidence despite Australia having a lead of 54 runs. At the end of Day 3 Australia managed to score 21 without losing any wickets in 6 overs leaving the game in balance.

Marcus Harris and David Warner shared a strong opening partnership which the Aussies needed. There haven't been any great opening partnership in this series from the hosts, so this partnership was a gift they gracefully accepted.

The duo added 89 runs for the first wicket. Thakur got the better of him and the partnership was broken. In the next over Sundar dismissed David Warner through an LBW. The DRS showed three Reds as Warner had to depart for a score of 48. Australia were 91/2 after Warner's dismissal.

Once again the responsibility to stabilize the innings was on Marnus Labuschagne and Steve Smith. Labuschagne was looking good but was dismissed quickly after 22 balls at the score of 25. He tried to play it off the back foot away from his body. The ball took the outside edge and went straight into the hands of Rohit Sharma at second slip.

3 balls later Matthew Wade was dismissed for a duck. He tried to play it away to the leg side but was only able to get a faint edge and was caught out by Pant.

Wickets kept on falling at regular intervals for the Aussies despite Steve Smith' half century. Green,Paine and Cummins all got a start but were unable to convert it into a bigger innings. There was also a rain stoppage just before the Tea Break and Australia were bowled out for 294 in 76 overs as Mohammed Siraj picked up a 5fer with 5 wickets for 73 runs as Shardul Thakur picked up 4 wickets for 61 runs setting a target of 328 for India.

Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill lead out trying to get some runs on the board and get a positive start for India if they were to complete the target and achieve a memorable win.

After just 1.5 overs,Rain started again heavily and after a delay of around half an hour the Umpires called for the end of Day 4. India need 324 more runs to win from 98.1 overs remaining. Will India be able to achieve the target? Will the Aussies dismiss the visitors in Day 5 like they were dismissed today. All answers to be found out tomorrow.
