Mumbai Police Deny Claims by Republic TV in TRP Case

The Mumbai Police have denied all claims and allegations of Malice placed upon them by Republic TV and it's Editor-in-chief Arnab Goswami over the Television Rating Points (TRP) scam case.

The Mumbai Police have said that it has not falsely implicated anyone including Arnab Goswami or any other stuff of the Republic TV.

In the two affidavits filed by Senior Counsel Kapil Sibal before the bench of Justices SS Shinde and Manish Pitale, the police have claimed that they had received a "legitimate" complain regarding the scam and they had started a Investigation into the matter following a report from the Broadcast Audience Research Council (BARC).

The police have also said that they had found "legal evidence" against three news channels including Republic TV.

These affidavits were filed in response to the plea of ARG Outlier Media, the company that runs Republic TV channels. They had first approached the Bombay High Court last year and had tried to stop the Police from taking further proceedings against the channel and Goswami.
