Sonu Sood Meets Sharad Pawar; Sood is a "Habitual Offender" says BMC to High Court

A week after the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) filed a case through the Mumba Police against Actor Sonu Sood for alleged illegal construction of his residence, the Actor Meet NCP Chief Sharad Pawar at his residence.

The Reason behind the meeting is still unknown though.

Sood would then file a response by challenging the issue noticed by the BMC in October last year. In the response to this BMC hitted back at the Bollywood Actor calling him a "Habitual Offender" of illegal construction.

BMC has alleged that Sonu Sood had carried changes to his residence "Shakti Sagar", a six storey building and converted it into a commerical hotel.

In the affidavit issued the BMC said "the appellant is a Habitual Offender and wants to enjoy the commercial proceeds of the unauthorised work and therefore once again started reconstructing the demolished portion in order to make it operational as a hotel albeit illegally and without permission from the Licence Department."

According to the BMC they had taken an initial action against the actor in September 2018 when he was first time alleged of illegal construction. In November 2018 the unauthorised portion of his residence was then demolished.

Mentioning the above act the affidavit said "Such is the audacity of the appellant that he once again started alterations and reconstructed the demolished portion. Therefore the BMC once again took action of demolition on February 14,2020."

The BMC have also alleged that Sonu Sood or his wife Sonali Sood have no documents that justify that they are the owners of that residence.

In his plea Sonu Sood has said that he has not carried out an illegal work in his residence. His advocate Amogh Singh has said "the petitioner(Sood) has not made any changes in his building that warrants permission from the BMC. Only those changes that are allowed under the Maharashtra Regional and Town Planning(MRTP) Act have been done."
