Night Curfew imposed in Pune, Schools and Colleges will remain shut till February 28

Amid the instant increase of COVID-19 in Maharashtra, Pune announced a Night Curfew  which will be effective from tomorrow onwards i.e 22nd February,2021 until further notice. In that period essential services will remain unaffected though. Whereas Schools and Colleges will remain shut till February 28,2021.

Pune's Divisional Commissioner Saurabh Rao said "No Public movement will be allowed 11pm to 6am. In Pune District, the positivity rate has gone up to 10 per cent. It was only up to 4.5 - 5 per cent a fortnight earlier. To avoid a rebate of what happened last year, where the positivity rate had risen from 2-4 per cent to 10 per cent in just a few months, we are taking some precautionary measures."

Schools and Colleges will therefore remain shut till the end of the month. Hotels, Restaurants and Bars will have to shut down at 11pm. However vegetables vendors, newspaper vendors and others involved in morning activities are excluded and there is also no curb on inter district movement as long as COVID-19 protocols are followed.
