Shiv Sena leads protest in Mumbai against rising prices of fuels

Amid the constant rise in price of fuels(Petrol and Diesel) and cooking gas, the ruling Maharashtra party Shiv Sena has organized a state wide campaign of Protest this rise and have warned the Centre government that the protest will intensify if their demands of lowering the prices are not met.

Shiv Sena Leader Ashish Chemburkar who lead the protest in the Byculla area told that the centre has been constantly raising the price of the fuel since the unlocking phase began and soon the price of Petrol may reach 100 Rs per litre.

He said "The Union Government has been looting the common man for months by increasing the fuel prices. This has to stop. Shiv Sena will intensify protests if the centre does not arrest the price rise."

BJP Leader Devendra Fadnavis said that the state government should reduce its share of taxes on fuel to bring the prices down.

Replying to the above statement Chemburkar said that after the reduction of state tax on petrol the price will be down to 92 Rs per litre. He added "Do the ones who are seeking the reduction in the state's tax think fuel price of 92 Rs is less?"

In Maharashtra the highest price of Petrol was seen in Parbhani with 96 Rs per litre.
