In this week edition of Su-Niti News's Sunday Special we present the 1952 Dilip Kumar starrer Aan. Along with Dilip Kumar, Prem Nath and Nimmi also appeared in major roles. The movie also saw the debut of Nadira.
Directed and produced by the Legendary Mehboob Khan, the music of this film was composed by the evergreen Naushad. Released as The Savage Princess in UK and US, it was India's first technicolour film and would go on to become India's most expensive film of that time. It was subtitled in 17 language and released in 28 countries.
Brief Synopsis :-
One day a Royal Indian family of a Maharaj (Murad), a Prince Shamsher Singh(Prem Nath) and Princess Rajshree(Nadira) helds a contest in which a person has to try to tame Rajshree's horse. A Local Village leaders Jai Tilak (Dilip Kumar) enters the competition and successfully wins it. After that he is challenged by Shamsher Singh. After much dispute Jai is declared the winner. Soon he falls in love with the Princess who is too arrogant to accept her true feelings.
The film then goes on to show Shamsher Singh plans to take control of the land,Jai Tilak killing him for revenge because of Singh's actions which leads to the death of Jai's childhood friend Mangala(Nimmi) and how he sets out on an adventure while kidnapping Rajshree and trying to make her fall in love with him.
