The Kumbh Mela, starting from 16th February, will witness the presence of transgender saint Mahamandaleshwar Devi Himangi Sakhi for the First time

Mahamandaleshwar Devi Himangi Sakhi (Transgender Saint)

After submitting all the necessary documents to the administration, Mahamandaleshwar Devi Himangi Sakhi of Pashupati Akhara, has got the permission to set up camp for Sant Samagam in the order of Kumbh Mela starting from 16th February on the banks of Yamuna, with the announcement of allotment of land at the administrative level.

Mahamandaleshwar Devi Himangi Sakhi, the main attraction of the Sant Samagam organized by Pashupati Akhara, will have visitors to offer a sap of Shrimad Bhagwat Katha as well as transgender seekers from all over the country. Prior to the allotment of land for the camp to Pashupati Akhara, the Nirmohi Aani Akhara objected to the Kinnar Akhara and it was claimed that transgenders were not associated with any community and therefore should not be allotted land. Allotment of land at the administrative level for Sant Samagam to Pashupati Akhara (marked as Kinnar Akhara), in spite of all odds is a distinct success for Kinnar (Transgender) Saints.

It is worth mentioning here that Kinnar Devi Himangi is Mahamandaleshwar from Sakhi Pashupati Akhara (Nepal). Pashupati Akhara(traditional gymnasium) is an independent akhara in itself. Mahamandaleshwar Devi Himangi Sakhi is the first and only transgender Mahamandaleshwar of India, who recites Shrimad Bhagwad Katha during her sermon from the stage. The presence of Kinnar Mahamandaleshwar will be recorded for the first time at the Kumbh Mela held on the banks of river Yamuna in Vrindavan, the love leela of Lord Krishna. It is known that before Haridwar Kumbh, there is a tradition of organizing Sant Samagam in Vrindavan. The saint congregation is joined by saints and devotees coming from all over the world with devotion. Keeping the traditions laid down earlier, Kinnar Mahamandaleshwar Devi Himangi Sakhi will set up her camp in Vrindavan before Haridwar Kumbh. In the past, Devi Himangi Sakhi had been awarded the 'Kanak Shree' award by Kanakadhara Foundation, a dynamic organization for works related to social causes.

According to Mahamandaleshwar Devi Himangi Sakhi, every creature in the world should be devoted to human service. This is the right path to attain salvation. The human being always gets success in the direction of connecting human to human. The welfare of the nation is possible only when a person should move towards human welfare, moving away from caste, religion and gender discrimination. "I have spoken to the Vaishnava saints under this thinking. Kinnar saints will be educated towards Sanatan Dharma by making them Vaishnava saints. Along with this, they will be given information related to religious work. In its first episode, I am joining the Sant Samagam camp organized by Pashupati Akhara on the occasion of Kumbh Mela," said Devi Himangi Sakhi.
