On Sunday ahead of the visit of finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman in Mumbai, the Congress Workers decided to hold protest against the Union Budget released last week and the increasing fuel prices. They would also show black flags to her.

She had reached the Yogi Sabha Grah in Dadar Area today for a meeting in the backdrop of the Union Budget. As she reached the spot, around 400-500 Congress Workers started shouting slogans against her and raised slogans in the praise of their party leader Rahul Gandhi.

The Police were however able to stop the Protestors from reaching near the venue of her visit. According to a Police Official, the Protestors had started assembling outside the Dadar Station since early morning.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone 4) Vijay Patil said,"The protest took place peacefully. No untoward incident was reported. No one has been detained and no FIR has been registered."

A Congress worker said that the protest took place because they were not happy with the Union Budget. "The Budget has not offered any relief to the common man."

2 days ago Shiv Sena had organised a similar protest against the increasing fuel prices in Mumbai and have warned the government of a state wide Protest if the prices do not drop down.
