On Thursday the Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) representatives in Kerala announced that "MetroMan" E Sreedharan, famously known for his architect of the Delhi Metro will be their party's candidate in the upcoming Kerala Elections.
The 88 year old engineer had joined the party formally on February 25,2021, just a week ago. This decision was made public by BJP state chief K Surendran.
"I will not be working like a politician.... I will work like a technocrat" said E Sreedharan to ANI. The voting for the 140 member Kerala assembly will take place in one phase only on April 6. At the moment BJP only has one MLA in the house.
