Rockstar Games announces GTA VI pre-order date; unveils official video and cover art

Rockstar Games has officially announced that pre-orders for Grand Theft Auto VI will begin on June 25, 2026, across digital storefronts and select retail partners. The confirmation came via the studio's official social media channels on June 18, accompanied by a short announcement video and the release of the game's official cover art.

The cover art presents a vibrant collage spotlighting the game's two protagonists, Jason and Lucia, alongside a range of in-game imagery including helicopters, luxury cars, motorcycle stunts, boats, and alligators, all rooted in the neon-soaked aesthetic of Vice City. Full downloadable artwork is available on the official site at rockstargames.com/VI.

GTA VI is set in Vice City, Leonida, described by Rockstar as "the darkest side of the sunniest place in America." The story follows Jason and Lucia, a criminal couple whose plans for an easy score pull them into a sweeping conspiracy across the state, forcing them to rely on each other to survive.

The game is confirmed exclusively for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. Rockstar's announcement post has already surpassed 3.1 million views, 1.23 million likes, and a wave of fan reaction celebrating the long-awaited pre-order window.
