On Monday in the middle of corruption allegations in Maharashtra, Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) MLA Ram Kadam has demanded that state Chief Minister Udhaav Thackeray and Home Minister Anil Deshmukh to undergo a narco test if they are not lying.
In a Nacro Test, the subject is injected a sodium drug which induces them into a sedated state and their imagination is neutralized and they are expected to disclose true information.
This development comes two after Ex Mumbai Police Commissioner Param Bir Singh laid out accusations at Anil Deshmukh of extortion from Officer Sachin Vaze who is under the arrest of the NIA in the Antilia Bomb Scare case.
Speaking to the ANI Kadam said "If they are speaking the truth, they should go for narco test, everything will be clear. Even Sitaji(In Ramayan) had to undergo Agni Pariksha(trial by fire), so why the Chief Minister and The Home Minister are hesitant to go for a narco test."
"He (Param Bir Singh) wrote this letter after this transfer so we must know what was his motive behind this letter, what political pressure was on him" added Kadam.
He would even question NCP Chief Sharad Pawar about his defence of Deshmukh yesterday night after he said the allegations were serious in the afternoon.
Pawar when asked about BJP's demand of Deshmukh's resignation said "If you see the former commissioner's letter, he mentions that in mid-February he was informed by certain officers that they got such and such instructions from the home Minister. From 6th-16th February, Mr Deshmukh was admitted to the hospital because of Coronavirus."
"It is clear that during the period about which the allegations were made,Anil Deshmukh was hospitalised. As this is clear such demands hold no power" added Pawar.
