Former Jammu and Kashmir CM Farooq Abdullah tests positive for COVID-19

 

On Tuesday, National Conference Chief and Former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Farooq Abdullah has been tested positive for COVID-19. This update was shared by his son Omar Abdullah on his offical Twitter handle.

He tweeted "My Father has tested positive for Covid-19 & is showing some symptoms. I will be self-isolating with other family members until we get ourselves tested. I request anyone who has come in to contact with us over the last few days to take all mandated precautions."


On hearing this, Prime Minister Narendra Modi wished him 'good health' and a 'speedy recovery' and expressed his prayers for the entire family.

"Praying for the good health and speedy recovery of Dr. Farooq Abdullah Ji. Also praying for your and the entire family's good health @OmarAbdullah" tweeted PM Modi.

Meanwhile the country yesterday added 56,211 fresh new cases of COVID-19,taking its tally to 1,20,95,855 with the active cases now at 5,40,720 indicating the arrival of the second wave.
