On Saturday, India continued their practice of giving Coronavirus Vaccine to countries. Yesterday India gifted Bangladesh around 1.2 Million doses of vaccine AstraZeneca.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi made his offering on the end of his two day tour of Bangladesh to celebrate the country's 50th Independence Anniversary. This visit also marked the PM's first trip to a foreign country since the outbreak of the pandemic.
However this was not the first time, Bangladesh has recieved vaccines from India. The country had previously received 9 million doses from Serum Institute of India in January, when they signed a deal with them in November last year. According to that deal, Bangladesh was set to receive around 30 million doses of AstraZeneca.
