On Wednesday, A Thane Sessions Court ordered Maharashtra's Anti Terrorism Squad (ATS) to stop investigating the Mansukh Hiren death case and handover that case to the National Investigation Agency (NIA).
The Court has also asked the ATS to handover all the relevant documents and paper to NIA for their Investigation.
This order comes after the NIA had approached the court for ATS's refusal to handing over the case to them despite orders from Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) on March 20th.
Mansukh Hiren was the owner of the Mahindra Scorpio car that was parked with explosive gelatins near Antilia, the residence of businessman Mukesh Ambani at the Altamount Road. Hiren was found dead in a creek in Thane on March 5.
Yesterday ATS had said that suspended officer Sachin Vaze is a Prime Accused in the Mansukh Hiren Case and will approach for his custody on March 25 when his remand in NIA comes to an end.
The NIA which was already probing the explosive laden case will now also cover this case. According to some reports Vaze's custody in NIA will get extended as the agency tries to get to the bottom of it.
