Rishabh Pant's hundred pulls India out of trouble on Day 2

Well well sports is unpredictable isn't it? After a complete dominating performance on Day 1 from India, very few would have predicted what's to happen early on in Day 2. In a hot scorching day in Ahmedabad, Indian Batsmens Rohit Sharma and Cheteshwar Pujara came out to bat knowing a strong performance for a second day would put India in the driving seat. Well England didn't came empty handed.

England got the upper hand in the first two sessions as India went from 24/1 at the start of the day to 153/6 at the end of second session. Two quick wickets at the start of day in the form of Pujara and Skipper Virat Kohli who went for a duck reduced India to 41/3.

After some little resistance from Rahane, India found themselves in real trouble with the score now at 80/4. Rohit Sharma was then joined down by Rishabh Pant. Sharma once again delivered with the bat in the first innings but fell down one run short of a deserving half Century as Ben Stokes got the better of him through an LBW. With Sharma's dismissal India had lost half off their side at just 121. Ravichandran Ashwin was also unable to recreate his batting Heroics and India were down 146/6.

England were completely the better side in the first two overs but it all changed it in the final session of the Day. The Young guns of Indian attack, Rishabh Pant and Washington Sundar took matters in their own hands and laid out a potential match winning partnership of 113 runs as Pant Completed a hard fought hundred.

He though didn't last long after completing his century as he was caught out while playing his natural attacking game, though the damage was already done as England's momentum in the first two sessions had evaporated.

However we can't give credit only to Pant. He was well supported by Washington Sundar who got a half Century to his name as well and is currently unbeaten at the score of 60 and is joined by Axar Patel who is on 11. India finished the day at 294/7 with an 89 run lead. They added 141 runs in the last session and have got themselves out of trouble.
