Sanjay Raut calls Anil Deshmukh an "Accidental Home Minister"

In the latest development regarding the allegations of extortion against Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh, Shiv Sena Leader Sanjay Raut has called Anil Deshmukh an 'Accidental Home Minister' claiming that he only got the post due to several senior leaders rejecting the post.

In the party's mouthpiece Saamana, Raut has also said that despite this development, there is no damage in the Shiv Sena-NCP-Congress alliance.

In the weekly column he wrote "Deshmukh got the home minister's post by accident. Jayant Patil and Dilip Walse Patil refused to take responsibility. That is why Sharad Pawar selected Anil Deshmukh for the post."

Deshmukh has been in the spotlight ever since Former Mumbai Police Commissioner Param Bir Singh dropped the 'letter bomb' accusing Deshmukh of asking Sachin Vaze to collect Rs 100 Crore per month for him.
