On Monday, the Mumbai Police and Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Officals raided two locations in Mumbai and seized around 2,200 samples of Remedesivir which was stocked by exporters.
Remedesivir is one of the most important drug in the Battle against COVID-19. As the surge in demand of the drug rose to a great extension due to the spike in COVID-19 cases, Last week the Centre had announced a ban on its export till the situation improves.
Acting on some tip received, the Mumbai Police and the FDA Officals conducted raids in the suburban Andheri and New Marine Lines in South Mumbai.
A total of 2,000 samples were recovered from Andheri while 200 were recovered from Marine Lines. The FDA have taken these samples under their possession and will hand it over to hospitals.
