5 arrested in Mumbai for black marketing Remdesivir; 34 vials recovered

The Mumbai Police have now arrested 5 people from the suburban of Goregaon for black marketing of Remdesivir. They raided a hotel's kitchen in Motilal Nagar, Goregaon and seized around 34 vials from the accused who were selling one vial at Rs 20,000-25,000.

According to the police, the accused have been identified as "Sneha Shaha, Shubman Bakshi, Dipak Khadka, Rohit Kamble and Atharv Chintamani."

Remdesivir is an important drug which is used in the treatment of COVID-19. Due to the rising cases, the Government decided to ban its export. A week ago the Crime Branch of Mumbai Police along with FDA agents recovered around 2,200 vials of Remdesivir from two locations in Mumbai.
