Breaking News- CM Uddhav Thackeray says he "cannot rule out imposing lockdown"

Amid the constant rise in COVID-19 cases in Maharashtra, CM Uddhav Thackeray on Friday (2nd April 2021), in a state address said that he "cannot rule out imposing a lockdown if the current COVID-19 situation prevails. People have become complacent."

In his address he added that in a couple of days, new strict restrictions will also be issued. He warned that if the current rate of surge continues for the next 15 days, then the state could run out of infrastructure and there could be a shortage of healthcare workers.

"I am not announcing a lockdown but warning about it" he added later.
