Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal under isolation after wife tests positive

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's wife Sunita Kejriwal has been tested positive for COVID-19 and is now being treated under home isolation. Due to this CM Kejriwal has also isolated himself.

Earlier in the day, Arvind Kejriwal had appealed to the people of Delhi, to stay at home, during the six day lockdown in the state which came into effect on Monday night.

"The lockdown in Delhi has started today. This decision has been taken in the view of your health and safety. Kindly co-operate with the government and stay home to keep safe from the infection" tweeted Kejriwal.

On Sunday, the national capital recorded it's highest single day spike in COVID-19 cases with 25,462 fresh cases. The positivity rate has increased to 29.74 per cent in Delhi, meaning every third sample being tested in the city is turning out to be positive.

Meanwhile the country continues to report more than 2 lakh cases daily. According to the Health Ministry, the country reported 2,59,170 new cases. The death toll also saw a rise with 1,761 deaths recorded in the last 24 hours. 

Earlier today, Congress Leader Rahul Gandhi also tested positive for COVID-19, after he took a test following some mild symptoms.
