On Sunday, the Footballing world was left in shock when the plans of a new "European Super League" was announced. Fans, Players, Managers, Pundits, Experts all were left disappointed when owners of 12 clubs decided to form a new League.

However just 48 hours after the plan was announced, everything went wrong for the European Super League. Due to large scale fan protest, abuse and boycott, the European Super League has been "suspended" as Clubs started to pull out of the competition.

It all started on Tuesday evening when reports of Chelsea and Manchester City leaving surfaced up. As Chelsea were supposed to face Brighton at Stamford Bridge in a premier league game, the fans of the London Club went on the streets and blocked the road, denying entry to the stadium.

The power of fans of the beautiful game was throughly seen on social media. Managers and Players soon joined them in their protest. Man City manager Pep Guardiola, in his press conference ahead of his team's clash with Aston Villa said "It's not a sport when it doesn't matter if you lose."

It was matter of time when the Domino Effect will start. Manchester City became the first team to pull out of the competition which was soon followed by Chelsea and the other 4 English teams.

Reports of Manchester United Vice-Chairman Ed Woodward stepping down from his post soon followed as a potential sale of the club broomed up. Renowned MMA fighter Conor McGregor took his Twitter and joked about buying the club.

Atletico Madrid and Inter Milan also pulled out on Wednesday morning and AC Milan are expected to join them as well. The remaining three clubs i.e Juventus and Spanish duo Barcelona and Real Madrid still deciding the future.

In an interview yesterday, Florentino Perez who is under a lot pressure now, said that this New European Super League was done to "save football" and that the youth group from "16-24 years are no interested in football." Ironic.
