On Saturday, an encounter broke out between security forces and terrorists at the Choor ki Gali Sedaw area of Hurpora in Shopian district, Jammu and Kashmir.
The area has been cordoned off and a joint team of Jammu and Kashmir Police and Army is carrying out the operation. According to a police official, a search operation turned into an encounter after the militants opened fire at the security personnel, who then retaliated.
The gunfight is still underway, he added.
Meanwhile, another encounter is underway at a forest in the Peer Ki Gali area of the Shopian district.
