Lockdown like curbs likely to be extended in Maharashtra; Free Vaccination for all: Health Minister Rajesh Tope


As Maharashtra continues to face a strict test against COVID-19, the cabinet has decided to extend the lockdown like curbs till May 15. This was announced by Health Minister Rajesh Tope.

In a cabinet meeting today, Rajesh Tope also announced that the COVID-19 vaccination drive for age group 18-44 years, will not begin from May 1. However vaccines will be provided free of cost to all in the state.

A tweet from CMO read "Today, the cabinet under the leadership of CM Uddhav Thackeray has decided to provide free #COVID19 vaccination to all the citizens of Maharashtra aged between 18-44 years."

Despite Mumbai showing a recent dip in number of cases, the state continues to register high numbers. 66,385 new cases were reported on Tuesday and a single day high of 895 deaths were also seen.
