PSG avenge their Champions League Final defeat as they knock out Bayern Munchen

After a thrilling 3-2 win over defending champions FC Bayern Munchen in a snowy evening in Munich, Paris Saint Germain completed their revenge and made amends for last year's final defeat as they knocked out Bayern Munchen on away goals.

Three away goals (a brace from Kylian Mbappe and a strike by Marquinhos) had put PSG in a commanding position in the tie. They however knew that it was far from over though as one mistake could cost them the matchup.

In the first leg, Bayern had 31 shots on target compared to PSG's 6 shots. In the second leg, it was PSG who started off strong. Neymar was denied twice by Manuel Neuer before he stuck the woodwork twice. One of his effort rattled the crossbar in the 37th minute, whereas his second effort came back of the right post in the 39th minute.

His second effort which strucked the post would come on to haunt them as merely two minutes later, Eric Choupo Moting headed in a rebound to make it 1-0 for the visitors in the 41st minute.

PSG squandered many chances. They eventually had the ball in the net in the 78th minute through Kylian Mbappe only for it to be chalked off by the assistant's flag for offside.

Bayern were unable to get another goal as they won the game 1-0, drew 3-3 on aggregate but lost the tie on away goal rules.

Meanwhile the other match of the night saw Chelsea ease through to the semis despite losing 1-0 to Porto. They only goal of that game came in the 4th minute of second half injury time through a spectacular overhead kick by Mehdi Taremi. Due to the first leg 2-0 win, Chelsea reached the Semi Finals through a 2-1 aggregate win.
