Breaking News- Janta Curfew imposed in Maharashtra;Section 144 imposed as well

With the surge in COVID-19 cases on the high in the Maharashtra, Chief Minister Udhaav Thackeray addressed the state and announced new guidelines and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) in trying to break the chain and curb the widespread.

Stating the crisis as an "emergency-like" situation, he ruled out the imposition of a complete lockdown but announced the imposition of a 15 day 'Janta Curfew' from 8pm tomorrow.

He also imposed Section 144 which puts a ban on gathering of more than 5 people in public places from 7am to 8pm. The Night Curfew will remain intact. During the 15 day Janta Curfew, all establishments, public places except essential services will remain closed.

However public transports will function but only for essential workers and in essential and emergency activities for general public.

Hotels and Restaurants will remain shut down. Only home deliveries and take away will be permitted. Roadside food stalls will also have take aways only.
