On Saturday Night Chelsea were crowned Champions of Europe for the second time in their history when they defeated Manchester City 1-0 at the Estadio Do Dragão in Porto.
Having tasted defeat in the last year's final,Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel achieved redemption. Whereas for City boss Pep Guardiola, the wait for a third Champions League crown goes on.
The only goal of a final of tight margins came in the 42nd minute when Mason Mount's through ball left Kai Havertz one-on-one with City keeper Ederson. The German cooly went past the keeper and slotted it into an open goal to give the Blues a lead which turned out to be history defining.
Both teams also lost their star players in the game through injury. Chelsea Centre Back Thiago Silva was forced off in the 39th minute, whereas Kevin De Bruyne was forced off after a nasty collision with Antoine Rudiger in the 60th minute.
Chelsea will now face Villarreal in the UEFA Super Cup. For City, they would be hoping to do one better next year and will have eyes sight to defend their domestic crown as Chelsea along with others will try to dethrone them.
Up Next are the Euros which will start from June 11. See you then.
