India extends ban on International flights till June 30

As the month of May comes to an end, the Indian Government has decided to extend the suspension placed on international flights by yet another month till June 30. This was confirmed by a circular released by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA).

The current ban on International flights was supposed to end on May 31 after a 14 month long gap. However as India continues to face a uphill battle against COVID-19, it's is highly unlikely to see International flights operating at regular schedule any time soon.

As always, dedicated cargo flights and flights under bilateral air bubble with selected countries will continue to operate.

Speaking of COVID-19 in India, the country reported around 1,86,364 new cases taking the cumulative caseload to 2,75,55,457 according to reports from the health ministry. The active caseload in India is near the 24 lakh mark with 23,43,152 active cases.
