He was involved in an horrific accident with Ayumu Sasaski and Jeremy Alcoba towards the end of the session which was immediately red flagged. It appeared as Dupasquier fall down and hitted his own bike before getting hit by Sasaki's bike. Visibly shocked Alcoba later said on TV that he thought he had ran over the Swiss rider's legs.
He was treated for around 30 minutes on the track before being airlifted through a helicopter and admitted into the hospital at Florence.
Shaken by the untimely death of the 19 year old, Yamaha's French world championship Fabio Quartararo won the Italian MotoGP on Sunday and dedicated his victory to him and held up a Swiss flag at the podium in his honour.
