Breaking:- Legendary Bollywood Actor Chandrashekhar Ji passes away at 98

On early Wednesday morning (16 June) at 7 am, Veteran Bollywood actor & Social Activist Chandrashekhar Ji breathed his last. He was 98. He was best known for playing Arya Sumant in the television series, ‘Ramayan’. The funeral is expected to be held sometime today.

  • Chandrashekhar ji's son, director-producer Ashok told us, "Daddy had no health issues and had a natural death. He was okay last night. The end was peaceful. We plan to perform the last rites at Pawan Hans in Vile Parle today at 4 pm."

Many senior Bollywood artistes and his loved ones are pouring their condolences on the veteran's demise.

The senior actor appeared in about 250 films. His first film as a hero was ‘Surang’ which released in 1953. One of the most famous musical film produced and directed by Chandrashekhar Ji in which he acted in as the lead hero was ‘Cha Cha Cha’ (1964), which was the first film of Helen ji in a lead role.

  • He essayed characters as the supporting actor in films like ‘Gateway of India’, ‘Fashion’ (1957), ‘Barsaat Ki Raat’ (1960), Kali Topi Lal Rumaal, Baradari, Kati Patang, Shakti, Ajnabi and many more popular films.

He also served as President of the Cine Artistes Association (CINTAA) from 1985 to 1996.

He is the grandfather of TV actor Shakti Arora. In 2019, Shakti had shared an adorable picture with him. He had also written a sweet caption along with it. His post read, “My grandfather at his smiling best.😇 #chandrashekhar #veteranactorchandrashekhar #nanaji #humfilmihain #96andgoingstrong.
