On Monday, 7 June 2021, Seher Aly Latif, widely known for working as a casting director for movies like 'Shakuntala Devi' and 'Durgamati: The Myth', passed away due to cardiac arrest.
- Latif, who was in her early 40s, breathed her last at Mumbai's Lilavati hospital, where she was admitted for renal failure.

- Latif was one of the most sought-after casting directors for international projects set in India or with a significant Indian component. Her casting director credits include 'The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel' and its sequel 'Million Dollar Arm', as well as 'Lunchbox' and 'Maska'.
Seher's credits for casting in India include 'Eat Pray Love', 'Zero Dark Thirty', 'McMafia', 'Furious 7' and 'The Hundred Foot Journey'.
- Latif founded Mutant Films in 2016 along with her associate Shivani Saran.
