Mumbai Unlock: BMC issues new guidelines for "Level 3" Mumbai

As the Maharashtra Government confirmed that they had planned a 5 level unlock system across various districts in the state, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) confirmed that Mumbai falls in Level 3 (Areas where positivity rate is between 5-10 per cent or oxygen bed occupancy is more than 40 per cent) and issued various new "Break The Chain" Guidelines.

According to the new guidelines which will come into effect from 7th June,2021:

  • Essential Shops will be allowed to operate till 4 pm on all days whereas Medicals and Chemists will be allowed to operate 24/7. Non essential shops will be allowed to operate till 4 pm on weekdays.
  • Malls, Theatres(single and multiplexes) and auditoriums will remain closed.
  • Restaurants will be allowed to operate at 50 per cent capacity for dining in till 4 pm on weekdays. However takeways and food delivery will continue.
  • Private offices will also remain open till 4 pm. Government and Private offices to have only 50 per cent attendance.
  • For marriages and funerals only 50 and 20 people will be allowed respectively.
  • Local trains will be restricted for use of medical and essential services only.
  • Public places/open grounds/cycling/walking will be allowed from 5 am to 9 am. Outdoor sports will be allowed from 5 am to 9 am and from 6 pm to 9 pm.
  • Shooting will be allowed only in bubble and no movement outside after 5 pm will be allowed.
  • Social/Culture/Entertainment gatherings to be allowed at 50 per cent capacity on weekdays till 4 pm.
  • Onsite Labour allowed at construction site. Labours should leave the site by 4 pm.
  • Agriculture activities also allowed to operate till 4 pm on all days.
  • Gyms/Salons/Beauty Parlours/Wellness Center/SPA's allowed to operate on 50 per cent capacity with appointments only and without AC's.
  • Buses will be allowed to operate on 100 per cent capacity. However no standing passengers will be allowed.
  • Inter district movement from private car/taxi/bus for long distance allowed.( E-pass required if travelling to Level 5 area)
  • Jamav and Sanchar Bandi only till 5 pm.
  • E- Commerce is regular.
