IPS GP Singh of Chhattisgarh suspended after ACB raids 15 properties related to him

 

On Monday night, the Chhattisgarh Government suspended Additional Director General of Police, IPS Gurjinder Pal Singh, a week after 15 properties related to him were raided by the state's Anti-Corruption Bureau.

In an order issued by the Chhattisgarh State Home Department, Singh was suspended for acts "unbecoming of a member of the Indian Adminstrative Service". Singh is an IPS officer o the 1994 batch and has served as the head of the police training academy at Chandkhuri.

The ACB had carried out raids at 15 properties related to him for three consecutive days from July 1 to July 3. The officials have claimed to have discovered movable and immovable assets worth over Rs 10 Crore and have also found several documents.

An FIR for this disproportionate assests has been registered and a separate inquiry by the Income Tax Departure is also underway.
