On Monday Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that the country's flagship COVID-19 Vaccination application, CoWin, will now be open source and it's software will be available to all the countries across the world who are looking to speed up their digital systems to fight the pandemic.

"India's technology platform for COVID-19 vaccination, CoWin, will now be open source. It will be available to any and all countries. The platform has been used to administer 350 million doses so far" said PM Modi while addressing the CoWin Global Conclave.

India kicked off its vaccination drive on January 16 with Frontline and Healthcare workers being the first to be administered the dose, followed by people of Age Group between 45-60 and then from Age Group 18-44 at free of cost at government run vaccination centres.
