15-year-old NEET Aspirant strangulates mother to death over studies

In a shocking revelation by Navi Mumbai Police, a 15-year-old minor aspiring to appear for NEET medical examination, killed her mother by strangulation with her karate dress belt following a quarrel between the two over her studies.

According to police FIR, the victim's brother received a call from his sister's husband, who was travelling, to rush to their residence as his wife was not opening the bedroom door. The brother quickly reached the home and managed to break in the room and say her sister "lying unconscious" with a karate belt wrapped around her neck, which he quickly removed it.

He then informed the police and the victim was taken to a nearby hospital where she was declared dead. Her brother then showed a message to the cops which was recieved from the victim's number stating, "I tried everything, I quit."

The police assumed it to be suicide case and filed an accidental death case. However the major twist came after the post mortem report was recieved.

The report stated "asphyxial death due to strangulation with head injury".

  • After a lot of enquiry, the girl confessed her crime. Her mother had called her in the bedroom at afternoon when her father was out. Her mother started scolding and beating her for not studying. The girl told that her mother even picked up a knife. Fearing for her life she pushed her down on the bed. Thereafter her mother picked up the cloth belt lying on the bed. The girl however snatched the belt and strangulated her, took her phone, typed that message, locked the room and called her father, saying her mother was not opening the door.

A senior police officer said "As the girl is a minor, she has been sent to the juvenile remand home".
