Bharat Bandh: Bank Union offers support to farmers' call on Bharat Bandh on September 27


On Wednesday, the All India Bank Officer's Confederation (AIBOC) extended their support to the "Bharat Bandh" called by the farmer group Samyukta Kisan Morcha (SKM) on 27th September.
  • Wednesday also marked the completion of 300 days since the protest began in November 2020.
The AIBOC have requested the government to re-open talks with the SKM on their demands on the removal of the three farm laws.

In a statement the union said that their affiliates and state units will join in solidarity with the farmers in their protest all over the country.

The SKM had earlier issued guidelines for the "Bharat Bandh" and assured that the protest will be peaceful and the farmers will ensure that the public faces minimum inconvenience.
  • The Bandh will start at 6 am and it will remain in force till 4 am. During that time period, state and central government offices, shops, markets, schools, colleges, educational institutions, factories will not be allowed to function.
Public and private transport will not be allowed to ply on roads. No public functions will be allowed either. However emergency services like Ambulance and Fire services will function.

In a statement, the SKM said "Various sections of the society are being reached out to the farmer's outfits in different parts of the country to get their support and solidarity to the farmer's cause, which is also becoming a movement to protect India's democracy".
