On Tuesday, the Delhi Police's Special Cell arrested a Pakistani based terrorist. He was later identified as Mohammed Asraf alias Ali. He was arrested from Laxmi Nagar's Ramesh Park area and was living with a fake ID of an Indian national in Delhi's Shastri Nagar.
- One AK-47 rifle with one extra magazine and 60 rounds, one hand grenade, two sophisticated pistols with ammunitions were recovered from him.
He has been booked under relevant provisions of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, Explosive Act, Arms Act and other provisions.
The Delhi Police informed this via a tweet in which they mentioned that a major terror plan has failed.
A terrorist, Pak national, caught by #DelhiPolice #SpecialCell @CellDelhi from Laxmi Nagar area of Delhi, staying on fake identity on forged documents, as we beefed up anti-terror alert and action across city in current festive season. Major terror plan foiled. Further probe on.
