Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday launched the PM Ayushman Bharat Health Infrastructure Mission from Varanasi. It has been promoted as one of the country's largest pan-India schemes.
Addressing the event, PM Modi took the opportunity and congratulated the country for reaching the historic milestone of administering 100 Crore (1 billion) vaccine doses in the fight against COVID-19 and extended his wishes for the upcoming festivals including Diwali.
"In its fight against Corona pandemic, the nation has achieved a major milestone of administering 100 cr doses. With the blessings of Baba Vishwanath, Maa Ganga and the trust of people in Kashi, the campaign of 'Sabko vaccine, muft vaccine' is going ahead successfully" said PM Modi.
- The PM Ayushman Bharat Health Infrastructure Mission aims to fill gaps in public health infrastructure, especially in critical care facilities and primary care in both urban and rural areas.
As per PTI, this mission is likely to provide support for 17,788 rural health and wellness centres in 10 high focus states.
PM Modi also inaugurated various development projects worth Rs 5,200 Crore.
