On Monday, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee announced that Schools and Colleges in the state will reopen for physical (offline) classes from November 15.
CM Banerjee directed Chief Secretary H K Dwivedi to take necessary steps and measures to facilitate this process.
- As of now only students from Class 9 to Class 12 will be allowed to attend classes.
The West Bengal government in September had hinted that the resumption of schools and colleges will take place after the festive season, provided the number of cases remained low.
The state on Sunday recorded 989 cases with Kolkata reporting 273 cases in a single day. The state has seen a little spike in the number of cases from the past one week, after Durga Puja ended.
