Opposition demands compensation for kin of COVID-19 and farmers protest victims at all-party meeting

Ahead of the Winter Session of the Parliament, the Opposition on Sunday demanded compensation for the families of COVID-19 victims and the farmers who lost their lives during the Farm Laws protest in the all-party meeting.

Around 42 leaders from 31 parties attended the all-party meeting today. Around 26 bills will be included in the parliament, whereas the bill to repeal the three farm laws will be the first priority.

"We demanded from the government that families of COVID-19 victims be given a compensation of Rs 4 lakhs each. Compensation should also be given to farmers who lost their lives during the farm laws protest" said LOP in Rajya Sabha, Mallikarjun Kharge.

The Winter Session will commence from November 29 and is scheduled to conclude on December 23. The Monsoon Session of the Parliament saw a huge ruckus from the Opposition which led to multiple suspension of sessions.
