Will write open letter to PM over pending issues: Farm Leader Balbir Singh Rajewal

On Sunday, farmer leader Balbir Singh Rajewal informed that the Samyukta Kisan Morcha (SKM), an umbrella body of over 40 protesting farm unions, will continue the agitation as per the schedule and added that they will write an open letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Minimum Support Price (MSP).

"We will write an open letter to Prime Minister mentioning the pending demands including MSP Committee, its right, it's frame time, its duties; Electricity Bill 2020 and the withdrawal of cases against farmers. We will also write him to sack the Minister Ajay Mishra Teni over the Lakhimpur Kheri incident" said Rajewal.

However, the farm leaders also welcomed the step taken by PM Modi to repeal the three farms laws.

"It was a good step, we welcome it. But a lot of things still remain" added Rajewal.

After the Centre decided to withdraw the three farm laws, the farmers union have shifted their focus on minimum support price, demanding a new law on it.

They have also demanded compensation for the farmers who lost their lives during the farmers protest. They have announced a march to the Parliament on November 29, the day when the winter session of the parliament begins.
