On Tuesday December 14, Popular OTT platform Netflix announced new and reduced prices for plans in India, with the mobile-only plan now starting at Rs 149 per month instead of it's earlier Rs 199 per month.
The new plans will be applicable for all customers.
- As per the new price scheme, the Netflix Basic plan which used to cost Rs 499 per month will now cost Rs 199 per month. The Standard Netflix Plan which used to cost Rs 649 will now be available at Rs 499. Whereas the most expensive Netflix plan, the Premium plan will now cost Rs 649 instead of it's earlier price of Rs 799.

For Netflix members on Mobile, Basic or Standard plan, the company will upgrade them to the plan that is one tier higher than the current plan, at the same monthly price that you pay for Netflix today. Therefore Mobile plan users will get upgraded to the basic plan at Rs 199 per month.
Users will get a notification on their device where they will have the option to "Confirm Upgrade" to use the plan or choose any other plan of their liking.
