On Monday, several hundred students protested outside Maharashtra School Education Minister Varsha Gaikwad's residence in Mumbai demanding online exams for Classes 10th and Classes 12th.
As per official reports, the protest took place in Ashok Mill Naka in Dharavi and police had to resort to mild baton charge to stop them from moving towards the minister's residence.
"No student was injured in the lathicharge. Some of them were brought to the local police station and released soon after" an official said.

During interrogation, the name of former Bigg Boss contestant and Youtuber Vikas Fhatak alias "Hindustani Bhau" had surged up and is said to have directed the students behind this protest.
"An inquiry will be conducted & action will be taken (on being asked whether the crowd gathered on the directions of Vikas Fhatak alias 'Hindustani Bhau')," DCP Pranay Ashok told ANI.
