AWWA's water initiative 'Sena Jal' not available commercially yet

Majority of Indians might not have heard about "Sena Jal", an Indian bottled water brand, on any media such as TV, print or radio, other than social media forwards.

But the fact is that Sena Jal does exist since 11 October 2017. President AWWA (Army Wives Welfare Association) inaugurated it at a Company of Army Service Corps (ASC). This was started by CDS General Bipin Rawat's wife Madhulika Rawat.

Under this initiative, 500ml bottle costs just ₹6 and 1 litre bottle costs ₹10 each.

The plant was upgraded to meet the sale of Sena Jal. 20 ltr Jar Sec has also been introduced. On 18 Oct 2021, Pet Blowing machine had been installed and in-house production of Sena Jal bottles had been started. This has resulted in further reduction in rates of water bottles at 250ml costs Rs. 5/- and 500ml bottle costs Rs 7/-.

As per claims, the profits earned from the sale of Sena Jal (Army Water) is sent to Military Welfare Committee and the money is utilised on the Martyr soldiers' families and education of their children.

However Sena Jal is not commercially available as retailers or wholesalers won't gain as much profits from an Indian brand as compared to foreign companies such as Bisleri.
