On Wednesday, Manchester United forward Mason Greenwood was released on bail after being arrested on suspicion of rape and assualt. He will be subject to further investigation.
"A 20-year-old man arrested (on Sunday January 30) on suspicion of rape and assualt of woman has been released on bail pending further investigation," the Greater Manchester Police said.
While in custody, he was further arrested on Tuesday on suspicion of sexual assault and making threats to kill on Tuesday.
The forward was initially arrested on Sunday after a woman reported to be his girlfriend, posted images, videos and voice notes on social media and accused him of rape and physical abuse.
Greenwood has been suspended by Manchester United whereas Nike suspended all their ties with him following his arrest.
