On Wednesday, Fintech platform BharatPe removed co-founder and managing director (MD) Ashneer Grover from all positions in the company. The firm accused Grover's family and relatives for engaging in extensive misappropriation of company funds.

In a statement, the company also mentioned that it reserves the right to take further legal action against Grover and his family but remained silent on his resignation.

Grover had tendered his resignation as MD and Board Director on late Monday night after being notified of a board meeting which was scheduled to take place on Tuesday.

"The board will not allow the deplorable conduct of the Grover family to tarnish BharatPe's reputation or that of it's hard working employees and world-class technology. As a result of his misdeeds, Mr Grover is no longer an employee, or a director of the company," the company's statement read.

Reacting to the statement, Grover said he wasn't surprised, adding that the statement came from a position of "personal hatred".

"I am appalled at the personal nature of the company's statement, but not surprised. It comes from a position of personal hatred and low thinking," Grover was quoted by The Economic Times.

For the unversed, Grover recently appeared as a judge of business related Hindi TV Series, Shark Tank India.
